Archibald Orchards & Estate Winery is a 4th generation family farm located in the picturesque foot hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine.  The south-westerly slope & clay loam soil makes it the perfect site for growing apples.  There are over 10,000 dwarf trees with 14 varieties ranging from Ontario’s own McIntosh discovered in 1811 to the ever popular Honey Crisp & Ambrosia.  Come fall, this place is bustling with pick your own apples, fresh pressed cider, hot apple pies & dumplings…  Young kids love “Grandfather’s Park” made out of recycled wine tanks.  What a great way to spend time in the fall harvesting memories with family & friends!

And for the adults, don’t forget to sample from Archibald’s extensive wine & cider list.  Making wine from fresh pressed cider was one of Fred’s hobbies for a dozen years before the winery opened in 1997.  The original wine list included 8 fruit wines.  Today the list offers 19 wine & cider selections ranging from dry & off dry table wines to dessert wines. We also make a range of Sparkling non-alcoholic ciders.  All of these products are made using our own tree picked apples, as well as other Ontario fruit.  Every fruit but grapes!  From picking & pressing to fermenting & bottling, everything happens right here under the watchful eye of Fred, the wine maker & grower.  He has a passion for making fruit wine, stemming back to growing up in Niagara’s Fruit Belt.
